Dublin Web Summit

I’m looking forward to attending the Dublin Web Summit this Thursday and Friday. The DWS – as it’s more commonly known – is a classic example of everything that is good about the enterpreneurial synergies that Ireland offers and which help to make the country unique in its service offering in 21st Europe.
The presence of so many international tech leaders, illustrating the way in which Ireland has a tech- and web-focussed service industry with a business culture that positively encourages entrepreneurship, is one of the reasons why I feel that we actually have a decent chance of coming out of this economic catastrophe with something like new industry and jobs.
The main seminars on Thursday are: start up based discussions; discussions about the future of the cloud; and social media and marketing. Friday has a great mix of talks too, with the speakers list reading like a Who’s Who of the trend-setting web-based companies.
Time to learn some new stuff…
